was it an open house? We went but the door was locked

two other families were there too.  only from people getting out of the house did we learn that there is sort of a traffic control policy.  only one family is allowed to be in at a time.  however, would it be too much to ask for that the agent answer the door bell and let people know what is going on?  this is a $1mm (asking) house, not government distributing food stamps.  we left without seeing the house, so did another family.  To the buyers: think about the potential troubles you may encounter dealing with this kind of seller (and agent).  Good luck.

Actually, wrong prediction Vulture, as  Edwards went under contract a month BEFORE Fielding did, and closed 7/09 at $1,075,000

Fielding closed after Edwards on 7/23

Both homes sold over the town's assessment.

Hiland - I know this  this is an older question, but one that might have some current  value ....please know that,  as Karen noted,  there should have been, and usually is,  a note on the door explaning why you were being asked to wait.
Every agent handles these situations differently.
I am sure it must have been an oversight, and the agent wouldn't have wanted you to be inconvenienced.
Best wishes.........

PS - Hi Karen :)

This home sold and closed (over the list price) for $1,150,000 . The sellers already had multiple offers coming in before the open house and therefore wanted to control the number of people walking through unattended. When we have to keep a door locked to lower the volume of visitors to an open house, we always post a note on the door to explain.

The $1.1M price tag undoubtedly kept many away.

The similarly-priced 18 Fielding Road, MLS # 2765090, will sell long before this property sees its next open house.
