Hello,
We have public water and sewer provided by the City of Ann Arbor ( www.a2gov.org ). Other properties in the area will be annexed by the City in the future and get connected to the water and sewer. My understanding is that this would result in a large assessment for those properties.
Also, our basement does NOT have a sump pump that could fail in a power outage and therefore is NOT connected to the sanitary sewer risking a possible backup.
Instead, the basement is gravity drained passively which keeps the basement extremely dry, resulting in a very pleasant envrionment.
