I might also add that you can "buy" your ranking, which once again in my opinion is misleading the general public!
This entire industry makes me sick!

In my opionion, this Realtor contribution, who gets tibbon and who doesn't is not only a joke but a mispresentaton to the gneral public.
Most recently I inquired as t why as a partciant of Zilloiw since 2005 had not yet rec'd a ribbon, I was told by Zilliow that than "randomly" selected awasrd recpients woithout regrrd to their efforts to grow the zillow community and/or total contributions.
Now tih 203 contributios, I remain unrecongizec although I have more contributions tht other "riibbon winners".
ues, I ,ay be disrimted a bit, but my major conern is the mispresensation to the consumer.

frisky, thanks for posting that. interesting, though not too surprising. in a billion-dollar industry that all but openly supports and propogates fraudulent propoganda without any sort of oversight, it's a SHOCKER that they will just blatantly ignore anybody that challenges them.
remember those youtube videos of Jim Cramer vs the NAR guy, or Pete Schiff versus the obnoxious real estate agent? okay, i'll find them...
Cramer clip
Schiff clip
These people are complete unused to being called out on their crap. It's like the man behind the curtain has been exposed, yet he doesn't even know that he's the man behind the curtain.

Uh oh. The realtor police are here.Â
the nar lost all of its professionalism and credibility (if it ever had them) when they lied to the American public over the last 4 years in print and on TV about the state of the real estate market and gave us their rosy statements that the downturn was about to bottom out--year after year the predictions came. David Lereah himself admitted the lies and his part in it--google him in money magazine/cnn or on zillow. People have lost millions and millions and lives have been destroyed listening to realtors regardless of how professional they've acted. I agree that people make their own beds but so called professionals lying and misrepresenting the facts are somewhat criminal--and thats not just certain 1% of realtors--thats from the top down.
here in New Jersey, first quarter 08 the NAR issued their home sale data indicating that NJ was one of 3 states where home sales increased. They said we were 4% up. Â Enough agents complained to the media and the njar that they were not seeing this in their markets that the association reposted the real facts and there was actually a 30% decline. now that's professionalism.

As a member of the National Association of REALTORS, please use the term properly as it is a trademark. You must be a member of the association to use the term "realtor" and the trademarked usage is all caps. If you are not a member, you are a real estate agent (or whatever the proper term is in New Jersey). I am licensed in Massachusetts and we have 2 levels of licensing here: sales agent and then broker. I am a licensed "broker" in Massachusetts. 99% of the folks that I know in real estate work very hard to make a living these days and I'm sure you do as well. I also work hard to make sure we maintain our "professionalism" as we are sometimes seen as "used car salespeople" by the uneducated. Please do not take this as a criticism of you in any way but, as you can tell, I've become sensitized to consumers assuming we are not professionals; thus we need to use the terms in our business properly.
