Hi Andrea,

I don't know about neighborhoods in IN. But I come from Lake Wawasee, IN. Many prominent folks from IN and surrounding states have summer homes their. Beautiful lake 13 miles long and 2 1/2 miles wide, at its widest point..

A word of caution. Almost everyone that I know that moved to another state came back  to CA within 2 years. No place in the mainland 48 can beat what we have here.

I don't know where you live. The general Santa Barbara area has more wealth than you'll find in BH and far more casual. "old money." Nothing to prove. Carmel is very charming too. Of course up north and other areas like Palm Springs has this too.

Gets really cold in IN. Tornado's are lots of fun .... Best wishes, Rudi

Probably best to speak with an agent, provide your proof of funds and/or pre-approval (which is typical when dealing with higher priced homes in the area), talk about what you want in a property, then go from there.

Hope this makes sense...
