Following this link will lead you to a full write up with pictures of 16 of the more popular premier properties: Raleigh neighborhoods.

Raleigh, North Carolina has a lot going for it. Gentle rolling hills Tall evergreens and hardwoods. Lot sizes are a bit larger than surrounding communities. Schools are Great especially in Leesvile school district, but overall all not superlative like Cary and Apex. Your housing dollar will go a bit further, though. Land prices rise at you get closer to the Research Triangle Park (a major work center).

Raleigh has many "ritzy" neighborhood; especially in the North Raleigh area.  Cary also has some ritzy neighborhoods.  You can probably find very nice neighborhoods just about anywhere, but I would says those are among the top areas.  The North Raleigh area has many subdivisions where prices start at $1 million.

Unlike a lot of areas-  the idea of a "City" being ritzy can be misleading. We usually talk about neighborhoods (or subdivisions) being more upscale. Cary, Apex, and even Holly Springs have some very high end neighborhoods, as well as areas of North Raleigh. Older neighborhoods "inside the beltline" are very nice, and considered high end too.
It depends on what you like in a community. Here in the Raleigh area we have something for everyone.

There are outlying areas / suburbs and other cities as well which are in a short driving distance. It just depends on how far from Downtown Raleigh you want to be. And if you want historic or new construction. And what price point you want to consider.

I'm in NC, and if you require more information.

The more "up-scale" areas in the Raleigh area include: Hasentree, Five Points, most neighborhoods inside the Beltline, Brier Creek, Olde Raleigh, Linville, Stonemoor, North Ridge, for some examples. Please feel free to contact me for further info on these neighborhoods. Thanks!
