what is happening with the new improvement to mortgage adjustment announced recently?

Am current but at 6.25%, *and* upside down to the tune of about $50K on a $290K mortgage.  Is there anything that can be done?

Depends on if your current loan is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.  If so, yes there are possible options for you.
