It's a little late to help the person who posted this question, but I know this neighborhood and I hope this helps others -
There is one house on Farrin that is problematic that I know of (possible drug/gang activity) but overall this street is exceptional in that most of the homes have been owned for 20+ years by the same owners. There are several churchgoing people here, and they all seem to know each other and are invested in the neighborhood. They hold an annual block party, and introduced themselves when I bought my home. The big Lutheran church here has a great after-school program where neighborhood kids can form friendships and do activities, so overall it's a good neighborhood.

Also not a complete assessment, but The Fresno Bee has a crime map at http://data.fresnobeehive.com/crime/. It doesn't give concrete statistics but I like to use it to compare the types and frequency of crime in a neighborhood I'm considering to a neighborhood I know well (such as the one I live in).

You might want to look at Family Watch Dog this is a website that focuses on registered offenders but does cover other crimes as well. You can also find out specific information at you cities own website and also at Crimereports.com These are by no means a complete assessment of crime in the area.
what is the crime rate for this area?
we were going to buy this house on 1347 n 8th and wanted to know what the crime rate is. we have small children and when we first seen the house the area was ok looking but we went back and it looks as though it may be a bad area with drugs and gang activitity.
