Kevin hit the nail on the head. Generally when I refer to something as a "townhouse" style, it would have an attached garage and entry is usually on the ground level, whereas "condo" as a style would be more like an apartment building, and entry could be on any level.

A townhouse generally refers to a style of home. Condominum refers to a type of ownership. It is confusing but you can have a "townhouse" style home that is also a condominium.Condominium ownership you generally own from the walls in only. Where with a single family home you in fee simple interest you own the home and the land. Hope this helps.

in a condo you pay a condo fee that pays a management fee to take care of the roof&exterior maintenance and the grounds. The condo fee also pays for the master insurance policy which covers the building. The owner of the condo only buys insurance for the interior of the home. Condos can be villa style 1 story homes, high rises or attached multilevels homes like townhouses.

what is the difference between a "townhouse" and a "condo"?
