Thanks for posting your question on Zillow.com!

The answer is, "it depends".  Commission is 5-7% then you have another 1-2% on top of that for a general answer.  I'd shoot it high to be on the safe side and say 9% of sale price.

Good luck, hope we helped.

In California it is between 5-7 percent depending on the property, keep in mind half of that goes to the buyer's agents as well as marketing efforts. Best of luck from [Websites removed by Zillow moderator. Please see our Good Neighbor Policy.]

As the others have stated it will vary by location and type of property. Would be best to contact a local agent and they will get you an estimate of all closing costs and give you a good idea of what your net procedes will be.

Every situation is different. As stated below, there are fees like transfer taxes, commissions (if applicable), title insurance fees, legal fees, miscellaneous recording fees, estimated unpaid taxes and other others.

Talk to a realtor and/or lawyer to help you out.

In PA, your costs will be:

Sales price X % of transfer tax
+
Sales price X % commission (if there is one)
+
township or county-related fees
+
miscellaneous title fees
=
Closing Costs for Seller

It will look something like that.  If you have an agent or are planning on using one, they should provide you with a Closing Cost Estimate that should show you your proceeds (less your mortgage, if you have one)
