what kind of debt does a lender look at?

When a lender asks to see monthly debt do they want to see ALL debt including things like cell phone bills and and car insurance? Or do they just want to see things that have acutal debt like credit cards and car loans? thank you for your time.

Your lender will look at all debt reported to the three credit bureau's. Cell phones, car insurance will not be counted in ratios.

Generally, things like cell phone bills and car insurance do not count as part of your debt to income ratios. However on some loans you can use those types of payments to bolster your credit file if needed.
