I can help you search for Govt Foreclosure properties in the Dayton area. The bidding process is complicated, so I would suggest working with an agent who can explain the process. Contact me if you would like more details.

true tax foreclosures are rare. The banks will pay the taxes long before they let the county auction the home.

In AZ, you bid on the tax lien, in decending interest rate fashion, and then the owner has years to pay it off.

So, my actual advice would be to quit watching late night tv.

In Washington it's also the county level. I can go to the county courthouse every Tuesday to get an updated list for a nominal fee.

In Ohio it seems they are handled at a County level.
For example...the Lorain County Sheriff's website list Lorain County's Sheriff sales, including the tax foreclosures.

Each sheriff sale has a court case number and the case number for the tax sales have a "TX" in it. Also, the Plantiff for these tax foreclosures is the Lorain County Treasurer.

I would guess that most of Ohio counties work in a similar fashion.

Anyways, I would start at the county since they handle real estate taxes.
