TX is also a non disclosure state so the zestimate is useless as well. Ask a local Realtor for help with a market analysis. We use the same approach as appraisers by looking up similar homes that sold recently. Most of us provide this as a free service. Or as Cathy suggested, you can hire a professional appraiser for a more formal one for about $400.

Zillow works in markets where there is public disclosure of real estate prices. It does not work in Utah as it is a non-disclosure state. I don't know where you are located. The real question is, for what reason do you need a home valuation? If you are thinking about selling it, a Realtor can estimate your market value based upon an analysis of similar homes sold recently. If it is for a divorce or another legal reason, though, you probably will want an appraisal done by a certified appraiser.
