who do I contact for a room/apt to rent for 6 weeks while I'm there for a medical rotation??

I would start by searching the local craigslist for rooms to rent.

Try googling vacation rental sites like VRBO.com.  There are also ones for rooms for rent.  These can be great deals and are likely more comfortable than a hotel.

Short term I would call hotels and ask about a weekly rental. It is the simplest way to go.
