There is no best. There is only adequate and inadequate.
I could always go with my uncle. He figured out that with short sales and foreclosures he was smarter to go back to cutting wood instead of selling real estate. That is tops in my book.
If possible get a simple real estate agent instead of a realtor. Not supporting NAR and its outrageous talking points is a positive sign.

I guess you mean Realtor®. What good knowing who he/she was even if there was a best one if he/she isn't licensed in your state? The link below is to a blog that has some tips on finding a listing agent. Maybe someone else has tips on finding a great buy side agent. Good luck.

Perhaps you might find the best realtor for your interests, by prioritizing your own goals and strategies, and then interviewing agents to find the ones who have the expertise in negotiation and marketing skills which fit your needs. Explaining to each agent your expectations, and listen to how they respond can help you in your quest for the best agent for you.

By the way, I'm not sure about the best "realter" in this world but I know plenty of interesting ones that I swear are from other worlds.

Holy Cow, Sunnyview, that guy's site is outrageous! Is that for real? It feels like a practical joke.

Wow! The "Pick of the week" was "created" and posted in 2005!
So, "quick as a flash" means 6 years?

Obviously, any "measurement" of "best" is going to depend on the metrics you select, and the weighting you assign to each metric...
And if an agent is "striving to be the best", then they are obviously, "stuck up", "self center", and "arrogant". And by ANY metrics a consumer would chose to use for selecting any agent, those qualities would disqualify the agent... thus anyone that strives to be "the best" will be "one of the worst" by default.
(That is why Jesus stated "the first shall be last". Mt 20.16, Mk 10.31, Lk 13.30)

I'm sure I'm not the best, but I'm pretty damn good. For sure, I am better than the "Star" realtor the Sunny found.
In all seriousness I think most realtors try very hard to please their clients. Most of us are "The Best" we can be.

Well, Jim; I don't believe that is true either... if you are the "best you can be", that means you can never be better, and that you might as well not bother trying?
And that means if a client is not happy with the way you are doing things, you shouldn't bother to make any changes as you are already at your "best"?
That means that if you make 10 spelling errors a day, you can't reduce it to 2 or 1 by using a spell checker or being more careful?
I don't think most agents have any clue what they mean by "best".
