Ok...but it's shocking to see the Zillow estimate drop from 800,000 to 540,000 in a month, while I was pouring >100,000 in a remodel.

Please talk to a full time real estate agent to find out the value of your home.  Zillow estimates should not be taken as the value of your home.  Computers and calculations are tools, but ultimately people are who buy and sell houses. The value of the human element cannot be denied.  :)

I just did over 100,000 in repairs and my house looks great. Looks like a new house! Mine dropped 300,000! My neighbor is a rental that looks quite shabby and there's is 100,000 higher than mine. Makes no sense at all!

Hi Marg:
there are many variables in valuation of homes. Maybe they did upgrades, maybe larger square footage than yours, where are you getting your market value from? Zestimates aren't always the most accurate.
I will be happy to get you a estimate if you would like.

Try not to read too much into Zillow's estimates, they may not always be entirely accurate and leave out some information on certain properties such as upgrades, unless the owner or agent inputs this information themselves. If you want to get a better idea of the current value of your homes, contact a local agent and request a CMA (comparative market analysis), this will tell you what homes are currently selling for in your area and what your home can possibly sell for.
