I think that except for when she disagrees with me Cindy is a pretty darn good person to have participating in this Forum...

Ouch, simply trying to help. As stated, Zillow employees have a green Zillow tag.

Pardon my "dumbest response ever." People often complain that their home is listed for sale without their permission, and that is how I read your question. I am usually very good with the English language, again, my apologies.

As far as the tax issue, I can't do a better post than Connie.

Good luck, and sorry to have offended.

If you feel the only way to resolve your situation/issue is to speak with/contact someone from Zillow...

I suggest you try Emailing one or all of these Zillow Staff members

Public records may come from different entities in the various states and in some areas they are more up to date with online activity that others.  Zillow  gets their information from public records and other sources such as agent listings and owner input.  If your home is listed for sale on zillow by an agent, (you said it was for sale in your reply to Cindy) then definitely get with your agent to have them correct what they can.  If it is listed "for sale" and not just a zestimate listing it will show in the listing history at the bottom the entity that listed it for sale (usually says Owner or the name of a brokerage).  so if it is listed there but not with your brokerage, you know with whom  you might need to talk to get an explanation of why they listed it.

If the public information is out of date, while your agent or you (if you claim the home as yours here) can edit that information and correct it, it will still be wrong on all other syndicated sites that recieve the same bad information from public records.

it may be that only zillow has it wrong but typically, when the tax info is wrong here it's wrong on Trulia, homes.com and many other sites.  So, if that is the case you might want to address the heart of the problem.

In addition, one thing you can do to get specific attention to the listing is to go to the listing, use the flag icon and send a message to zillow about what the specific inaccuracy is or problem, if it is listed with the words "For Sale" and it is not for sale then that would be a first complaint.  Doing it through the flag enables you to be specific about your complaint without exposing your address in this publicly viewed thread.  those flag messages aren't read by viewers, only by zillow.

best of luck seeking resolution to the problem.

The Listing agent is the person you need to contact. She is the one that enters the information into the MLS, which in turn gets added onto sites such as Zillow. If the taxes are listed incorrectly that is something your listing agent needs to check into. The tax information does come from the town/city/country, depending on the location of the property, and it is public record, and the listing agent can enter that information as part of the overall MLS. Zillow, Truilia, or any other real-estate site does not create listing, rather they use the information provided by licensed professionals to streamline the data for many users.

to the C,hick from zillow, Cindy Quinton, who replied to my note--- that  was the dumbest response ever...home is for sale and county in NJ has no control over city or township taxes.  this proves you all have no clue as to what you are doing.

If your home is being listed for sale, you need to consider contacting the listing agent and insisting  they remove the for sale status. The tax information generally comes from the countly level and is likely being misreported there. So you might consider delving into why that is incorrect with them.
