Profile picture for Blackoctober
in 2010 I refinanced my home, so will takes it upon thierselves to post my property as sold!  I am so angry over this... it is driving the value of my home down.

I just recently went to Davis County tax accessors  office to get documentation because  Zillow refuses to change any of thier "false" information... ie; 2005 taxes they posted and that my house was sold... my next step is the BBB and then if I get no satisfaction there I will take legal action against zillow.  I suggest they do something to correct thier false information before it comes to any of that.

In Utah, Zillow uses the recorded documents from your loans to decide if anything has changed.  Unfortunately it looks like they cannot tell the difference between a sale and a refinance.  Don't get to worried about it, Zillow does NOT determine the value of your home, the market does.  A lender or a buyer would use an appraisal to determine value not Zillow.   Interestingly, in neighborhoods where everyone has a lot of equity the zillow values are often WAY low.

What approach have you taken with Zillow to request changes to the refinance appearing as a "sold price"?   There are many possibilities, including flagging the line in the data set on the property details page.  There is a "report problems with facts" options.

It is hard to know what to recommend without a few more clues.    Redirect your "mad energy" into the right actions and it can be fixed.
