Upon checking these homes were actually for sale and sold. This is a common scam and do not send any money without making some calls and checking to confirm rental status.

0 replies Fri, 22 Mar 2013 17:13:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Renting-fraud/484230/ 2013-03-22T17:13:00Z Changes in FHA Mortage Insurance Premiums http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Changes-in-FHA-Mortage-Insurance-Premiums/478537/

Buyers who are purchasing a home with FHA financing (31/2% down payment) are required to have mortgage insurance on their loan.

Beginning April 1, 2013, the mortgage insurance premium will go up by .1% to 1.35% that is calculated on their loan amount.

The staggering increase will occur on 6/3/2013 when FHA's policy on the duration of the required mortgage insurance will be increased for the life of the mortgage. It basically doubles the amount of total MIP if the loan is paid to term.
The 3.5% FHA program has provided a great vehicle to get into a home with a minimum amount of cash.Currently, the MIP is required for approximately 9 years 9 months with normal amortization. The new program would require the MIP for the life of the loan.

For homeowners that expect to stay in their home for ten years or less, the new changes might not have much financial impact.

For buyers to avoid these increases, they will need to buy now to get the FHA commitment issued prior to these change dates.

2 replies Wed, 13 Feb 2013 23:21:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Changes-in-FHA-Mortage-Insurance-Premiums/478537/ 2013-02-13T23:21:00Z Zestimates http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Zestimates/404838/ You guys changed the way you estimate values in the last couple weeks. What ever you did you're out of your mind. Your estimates have no basis in reality, you are way too high.

0 replies Fri, 24 Jun 2011 07:54:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Zestimates/404838/ 2011-06-24T07:54:00Z Housing Market http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Housing-Market/404054/ As a Realtor, I generally look at Zillow for a rough idea prior to doing my market analysis. Sometimes it is a good barometer of value but often it is also way off. Suddenly I have noticed a sharp spike in Zestimates for the properties I have looked at in the last week. A property currently worth $150 suddenly is $291? Another that was $190 suddenly $414? Are these changes you made on June 13 the reason? Montana is a non-disclosure state so court house records don't provide sales prices so it is not as valuable a tool I suspect it is in other states but still! This would make it worthless.

0 replies Sun, 19 Jun 2011 17:14:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Housing-Market/404054/ 2011-06-19T17:14:00Z
