We are looking at small starter homes under 55K, with a 10% down payment. We both have excellent credit, 780+, but we have a short credit history. At first we were told that between us we need at least three lines of credit at least 12 months old but the lender that told us that would not finance less than 55K. We found a lender that would let us borrow as little as 30K but we were then told that we each need at least three lines of credit over 12 months old. Right now we have the three lines of credit that are old enough together, but separately we are a several months away from that goal. We do not have any rental or utility payment records because we have been living with our parents. Is there any other options we have or are we stuck renting when we can afford to buy?

1 reply Wed, 19 Jun 2013 12:08:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Buying-a-house-with-little-credit-history/497879/ 2013-06-19T12:08:00Z How do I list my property on Zillow? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/How-do-I-list-my-property-on-Zillow/497559/ 4 replies Mon, 17 Jun 2013 17:12:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/How-do-I-list-my-property-on-Zillow/497559/ 2013-06-17T17:12:00Z DO YOU TELL PEOPLE WHATS WRONG AND HOW IF OWNER HAS JUST LET IT GO http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/DO-YOU-TELL-PEOPLE-WHATS-WRONG-AND-HOW-IF-OWNER-HAS-JUST-LET-IT-GO/497917/
THE PLUMMING LEAKS ,BROKEN PIPES,ELECTRICAL IS ILLEAGEL, MOST NOT WORKING ,NO COOLING, NO HEATING,ADD ON ROOM AND SHED ALL NEED BROUGHT UP TO CODE .

5 replies Wed, 19 Jun 2013 16:24:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/DO-YOU-TELL-PEOPLE-WHATS-WRONG-AND-HOW-IF-OWNER-HAS-JUST-LET-IT-GO/497917/ 2013-06-19T16:24:00Z How Foreigners Can Buy Real Estate in the US (With F1 Visa, SSN, 5 years good credit history )? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/How-Foreigners-Can-Buy-Real-Estate-in-the-US-With-F1-Visa-SSN-5-years-good-credit-history/497973/ I'm a student (with F1 visa and good credit history) in the US who is trying to to get a mortgage in the US. It's a fixer-upper and it seems like the owners just want to be rid of it. I checked the clandestine registry and this house isn't known for being a meth lab. Not many meth labs in NJ but they do exist.
Other than a meth lab's dangerous chemicals, what other dangers can a drug-dealer occupied home pose?
