HELP! What happened?

My zillow listings have been pretty current and up to date. Something happened over the weekend that caused most of my listings to disappear and it appears to have taken 6 listings and doubled and trippled them on the site. How can this be fixed?

First Time Homebuyer Credit Extended and Revised

Congress passed an extension of the First-Time Homebuyer Credit. It is expected to be signed by President Obama this morning. The new bill has some more generous provisions than the original law. It increases the allowable adjusted gross income to $125,000 for single taxpayers and to $225,000 for those filing married filing jointly. Added to this bill is a $6,500 incentive for current homeowners who have lived in their current home for at least five years. The $8,000 credit was due to expire at the end of this month but will now continue through June 30, 2010. Here in Greensboro, we have seen an increase in home sales for houses priced below $200,000. Perhaps with these new incentives for existing homebuyers who want to move into a bigger home, we will see home sales in this market increase, as well.

Home Sellers and Renters Scam in Greensboro, NC

Attention people who are selling their home or trying to rent a home in Greensboro, NC (and I'm sure in other areas of the United States). There is a new scam on Craig's List.
Here's how it works: We have an absolutely beautiful home currently listed for sale in Greensboro. So imagine my surprise when I started getting inquiries from people about renting it. Evidently, someone lifted our MLS photo, posted the home on Craig's List and offered to rent it for only $1,000/month! When people inquired about the home, they received a lengthy email of explanation. The email stated that the home was being offered at this incredibly low price because the homeowner was a pastor on a mission trip to Africa and he needed someone to look after the home while he was gone. In order to qualify for this once-in-a-lifetime offer, rental applicants needed only complete an application with lots of personal and financial data and submit it along with a photo of themselves and anyone else who would be living in the house. In order to get a key to the home, they also needed to send a deposit.
These scammers went to great lengths to make the offer appear valid. They established a yahoo email using my name and found out the name of the homeowner so they could sign their emails "Pastor (Homeowner's last name)".
Fortunately, many people in Greensboro know me and called my office directly. Others found our number by conducting an Internet search. When people called me, I let them know that it was really a scam. However, I hope these scammers aren't able to take advantage of someone who didn't talk to me. We alerted Craig's List about the scam but it keeps popping back up on their website.

Avoid Foreclosure with new Mortgage Payment Reduction Plan

Effective October 31, 2009, Fannie Mae will retire its current HomeSaver Forbearance Plan and replace it with the new Payment Reduction Plan (PRP) to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. Under the terms of the new PRP, mortgage servicers will be allowed to reduce a borrower's Principal and Interest (P&I) payment by to 30% for up to 6 months. The goal is to provide the borrower some temporary relief while working with the servicer to find a permanent foreclosure prevention solution.

To be eligible for this temporary payment reduction, the loan must be owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and meet the following mininum requirements:
*Must be a first lien conventional mortgage at least 6 months old
*In default or is at risk of imminent default
*Secured by a 1-4 unit property (owner-occupie, investment and second homes qualify)
*Borrower must show ability to make the reduced payment
*Property cannot be condemned
*If in active foreclosure, sale date must be at least 45 days after PRP effective date (No 11th hour requests for PRP!)

Mortgage servicers will receive an incentive fee for a PRP, but under the new plan they will not receive the incentive until after permanent foreclosure prevention has been successfully completed.

Fannie Mae still instructs its mortgage servicers to evaluate each and every distressed borrower for the Home Affordable Modification Program (permanent payment reduction).

This announcement is just further proof that the banks are willing to work with homeowners to avoid foreclosure! Lindley Park Fall Festival a Huge Success

The Lindley Park neighborhood, located in Greensboro, NC, held its annual Fall Festival last Saturday, October 17th and it was a huge success. Fortunately, the rain stayed away and Lindley Park residents of all ages bundled in coats and jackets to enjoy the festivities.

It may have been brisk outside but inside the Team Leung Moonwalk, there was some serious heat as lots of little bodies bounced around all afternoon.

There were also lots of delicious entries in the chili cook-off, which kept the adults warm!

Team Leung was on hand at the festival and gave out a hundred free pumpkins. We also gave out bottles of water, which some said was needed to put out the fire after tasting all that chili! Each bottle of water came with a koozie, which promoted www.LindleyParkHouseValue.com. Each month, a report with Lindley Park real estate information is posted on this site. The report includes homes listed for sale, homes under contract and homes that have sold. It also has a link so neighbors can receive via email a detailed report about what their homes are worth.
