I live in Nevada, My credit score is over 800. I was referred to a mortgage company by my real estate agent, the mortgage comapany will let me lock in a rate of 5.5 for 60 days and charge .75 points with no additional points assessed.

Is this wise?

The zillow air picture is very old and prior to 2007 when we had major renovations. Update pictures!

We bought the house in 2003 and finally got moved in July 2006 and have remodelled adding a huge deck the full width of the house and underneath is a room that we put our jacuzzi in and has a door to covered patio next to it and with double sliding doors to back yard that has a yard and cemented the side of the house from street past gate to new deck and stairs going down to the bottom where the yard is since it has a finished basement so back yard is on bottom level of this 3 level house. Picture doesn't have any grass and shows old tiny deck.We've put in triple pane windows, new vinyl siding, and new roof. Deck is Trex and isn't wood so won't rot or have to be refinished. Planning on putting in 2 wind turbines that run is a circle (horizontal), not vertical, so they are quiet, to create electricity. If the aerial picture of our area is old, probably the rest of the zillow pictures are as old. They should be updated at least every 5-10 years. I think the picture is actually from before 2003. Most of the areas on Sparks Blvd. aren't open land anymore.

Seller refusing to return earnest money

I had an accepted offer on a house that ended up appraising for almost 30K less than the offer. The contract language specifically states that the earnest money will be returned without penalty if the house doesn't appraise.

The seller has accused the appraiser of being somehow crooked and in my pocket, so he is refusing to sign the cancellation of escrow. He has offered us a bunch of shady under the table deals to self finance the difference (as if I would buy a property right now for that much more than it's worth) and has begun legal action against the appraiser.

It has been six weeks since the appraisal and since we first sent the escrow cancellation and I still don't have my money back. The listing agent is now saying that they have no responsibility because he has taken the house off the market so they are no longer listing it for him.

If anyone has faced something like this before, or if anyone is a real estate attorney and can give me some advice on what to do about it, I would appreciate it.

Why is my asking sales price shown and not a Zestimate?
