Why are the values on sales in our area so inaccurate?

For years the values Zillow has had were right on, then a few months ago you began reporting values of sales in our area that have been nearly twice as much as the actual sales. What has happend? Can you correct the data?

Correction to Zillow Error

This home is 4,280 sq. ft of living space and 4 beds, 4.5 baths, not 3199 sq. ft as shown in some places on Zillow. Per sq. ft. is $863, not $1,091 as shown above. The comps shown above are nowhere near this property and have nothing in common. Add a 3-car garage sq. footage and the Kahala Ave. prestige address to get what is a very fair price for this property.

Crazy. .Who posted this? The property is for sale but at a price under $5,000,000, which is high.

Why does Zillow show here a sale price of $870000, yet the HI Prop tax site shows it sold for $580K?

Honolulu Property Tax website http://www.honolulupropertytax.com/Search/GenericSearch.aspx?mode=ADDRESS shows unit 321 at 3030 Pualei Cr. sold for $580,000, but Zillow shows it sold for $870,000. The dates are the same.

There's no way this price is correct. This home did not sell for ~4.0 million.

Who is posting all the houses in this neighborhood incorrectly? This is the fourth I've found with very little effort. The spike in the Zestimate should be a dead giveaway that the prices are being entered incorrectly.

Why are prices of recently sold homes in 96821 double the actual purchase price, including my own?

The listed purchase prices of homes in zip code 96821 are double their actual purchase price. I should know, my home is one of them. Obviously this dramatically distorts the zillow estimates of my property and all of the surrounding properties. Why are the purchased prices being doubled?
