Charlotte, North Carolina. 2013. I am a stay at home mom and student for the last three years. My husband works and makes 41000 a year. He has work in the same field for 8 years. My fico Is in the 680 range. His score is in the 640 range. My husband filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. It will 2 years in February since it has been discharge. He file bankruptcy for a number reason my loss of income due leaving work to take care of our new child. He was very ill and got injured at work causing him to miss a lot of work and build up a lot of medical bills. My question is how soon could we qualify for a home loan.? If I go back to work how long do I have to work for my income to be included to in calculation of a loan? We are first time home buyers in the Charlotte, Nc area are there any programs available to us? Thank you for your time .

To me, it seems like a separate earnest deposit that the potential buyer doesn't get back if the deal falls through for any reason, including if the house doesn't pass muster for the loan. I don't see the value to the buyer, but it sure looks like a nice way for the seller to make a little money even if the deal falls through.

How accurate are zillow estimates for refinancing?

I have a 30 year mortgage at 6% with a balance of $185k. (25 years left on it) Zillow estimates my home at $173k, but the range is up to $184k. So far, I haven't been able to refinance under HARP because I have lender paid PMI. My lender wants 95% LTV to refinance. I might be able to come up with enough to refinance if the estimate is $184, but definitely not at $173. How likely is the appraisal to come in at the upper end of the zillow range? I'm uncertain if it is worth starting this process.

I have a good job and have worked with the same company for 5 years but that seems not to matter with the appartment complexes. I have a wife and two year old and am settled but my past credit is prohibiting me from renting. With the number of properties just sitting I know there is someone that would rent to me. Someone misreported my number as a fraud. I am a homeowner that is trying to rent my only home. I am not a scam. The system will not allow me to repost my rental because someone reported it as a fraud.

Plan on moving to Charlotte area, probably outlying. I am seeking a home, with about an acre, but only have 85K or so. I've been told that investors and people like me have turned that areas market place into a feeding frenzy. ugh. lol.Frequently I see a house I could afford, but the zestimate is much higher, probably meaning there will be a bidding war, which would ruin it for me. How do I improve my chances of securing a home in the country for under 85K ?

I have a conv on a rental and a FHA on the home I live in. I want to start investing but i need a starting point. I would like to purchase a rental for profit...small loan 25k, rent it out, pay loan back, then reep the benefits of the extra monthly income/hopefully sell with profit.
