ps I just submitted this and it bounced my question back because it said to ad a valid neighborhood. I originally put Chevy Chase MD, DC. I changed the state to MARYLAND and resubmitted it and it said I already submitted a question with this topic??? It bounced.....

In home remodeling we have always seen a fair share of this kind of consumer behavior. Now it is even more so. Everyone wants a deal, something for nothing. I think this is the reason that many small companies will not survive in this economy. How do you deal with this kind of situation?

Is it a good idea to build a master suite on the main level?

My husband and I own a 4 BR (plus one den) capecod style home built in 1948. One drawback with this house is that it does not come with a master bedroom. The house currently has a small guest room next to the family room on the main level. We are thinking about building a master suite by combining the guest room and the family room on the main level. Â This means we'll go from 4BR (plus den) house to 3BR (plus den). Â Is this a good idea or a bad idea?
