Is there any benefits in a short sale? If I am a home owner and I am facing foreclosures, why should I choose to do a short sale. Is there really a benefit for me? I am glad you ask, lets open the discussion by stating that Short Sales differs from State to State and from bank to bank and investor to investor. A Short Sale simply means that you are asking the bank to accept a lower amount than the total loan owed on the home as payment in full. The task is how do I prove to the bank that the home as lost its value and I the homeowner cannot afford to keep the home any longer, I am behind on my payments and I have a willing buyer who desires to purchase my home for $X.
