I am here today because I have a question about mortgages. I had tried getting a pre approval a few months ago but was turned down because I dod not have 4 open trade lines for a year. I now do and am making payments on them. I have my car loan that is 447 a month and my student loans that are 78 a month with an icome of 2160 a month. My scores were a 605, 613, and 623. Anyway, i have just heard there my be a grant opportunity where I am looking and one of the things I need is to have a mortgage broker working with me. I had 1500 in my bank account but as I lost my health insurance due to taking a better job I had to spend that money. Is there anyway to get a prequal letter or a preapproval letter without having the down payment in your bank account? I could get it within a mont. :-(. Can anyone help me? It is in the Oneonta NY area.<br \><br \>3 replies Sat, 14 Sep 2013 17:28:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Advice-on-a-mortgage/511338/ 2013-09-14T17:28:00Z Mortgage tax in NY on a refinance? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Mortgage-tax-in-NY-on-a-refinance/371023/ Hello, <br/>I'm looking to refinance an existing mortgage with same lender without "cashing out". I've received conflicting information regarding the "mortgage tax" charged by the county. On one hand, I'm told that I won't have to pay this 1% tax as long as I'm not adding "new money" to the mortgage. On the other hand, I'm being told that I will have to pay this tax unless I do a CEMA? Please clarify.<br \><br \>9 replies Tue, 12 Oct 2010 22:47:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Mortgage-tax-in-NY-on-a-refinance/371023/ 2010-10-12T22:47:00Z
