My husband and I are very interested in a house, but the agent that showed him the house doesn't seem to know anything about the property or the process to buy a foreclosed home that is not liveable and needs A LOT of repairs.

A house is a big investment and if we were to buy this one, it would entail a lot of work. So, I would not feel comfortable having the agent we are working with not be well versed in these situations.

So, how do I find an agent with experience? Just send out emails to anyone that has 'forclosure" next to their name in their zillow profile?

I have been searching online for foreclosures. The websites I have found want all your personal information and charge you to look at the properties information. I am looking for a free reliable site just to get an idea of what is out there. Can anyone help?
