I know nothing about real estate and now I got a basic idea on how things work by reading Q&As here.

I have a low credit score(<600) and My wife has a credit score of 620-635. We both are employed and make $80k each per year and have been working for the same employer for the past 4 years. We live in stamford, ct and we are thinking to buy a home, beacuse we are spending lot of money renting a not so decent apartment. But, The loan approval is highly unlikely it seems basing on what I read online. Due to this, we did not even approach any agent till date.

I would like to know whether my wife has a good chance of approval for a home loan basing on the information I provided. We might be able to put a down payment of 5% and we are looking at homes priced under $250k in and around stamford, CT or Trumbull, CT.

Any responses/suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you.

7 replies Fri, 08 Aug 2014 20:31:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/We-have-a-low-credit-score-but-thinking-of-buying-a-home/553847/ 2014-08-08T20:31:00Z Can a spouse be listed on the deed/title but not on the mortgage? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Can-a-spouse-be-listed-on-the-deed-title-but-not-on-the-mortgage/504626/ My husband and I are closing on a home located in CT.
