But the sales person pushed me and convinced me that it's not bad to buy behind a power line, and she said they can cut the price by 10k if I sign the contract on the same day. Note, I went without a buyer agent. Normally they close the sales office at 6, but that day she stayed till 8PM in order to push the sale. Unfortunately, I got convinced and signed the contract. It was Sunday night about 8PM I signed the contract. They seller signed the contract on Monday, and sent it to me via email on Monday 3:30PM. Tuesday, I was so feared about the power line and searched on the internet and came across "potential danger of childhood Leukemia". That made me worry because I have two little kids. So, on Tuesday around noon, I told them that I'm not going to buy it because of the power line and asked them to cancel it, and I told them I want to see some other lot which is not under the power line. Today is Thursday, till now they haven't removed the sale listing of that lot (it didn't even go to pending - which is good for them) and I didn't make the earnest deposit. But now, the sales person is pushing me to come and see other lots and buy one and she is saying legally I'm still under the contract. (I felt she is threatening me to buy one property and she means that she'll take legal action if I don't buy any). Please advise me what should I do? What action they can take on me? I didn't make the deposit yet. This is in Washington State.

9 replies Fri, 26 Sep 2014 06:06:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Didn%27t-make-the-earnest-deposit-after-signing-the-contract/560735/ 2014-09-26T06:06:00Z Is it ok to use two seperate real estate agents when searching for a home? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Is-it-ok-to-use-two-seperate-real-estate-agents-when-searching-for-a-home/401317/ We are currently working with one lady that we like pretty well, but in the last few weeks we're starting to feel like she doesn't have time to show us as much as we'd like. We're currently in contract on a short sale, but we've expressed full interest in looking at other houses since we really have no idea if this house is going to come back for the price we wanted. There was one house that had only been on the market a few days that we didn't find out about until nearly a week later and by that point we had lost out because it had an offer. I feel like she's always making excuses that she has other plans and can't go, but when we press her she always manages to free up the time without a major issue. Also, in the past week or two, I've been trying to get hold of her and haven't gotten responses until at least 3days later, if at all. I was just wondering if it really was bad form to look with someone else if we're genuinely interested in looking at other houses. Obviously if we get the short sale it's through our current agent, but in the meantime I'm really starting to feel like she's not doing her best in working for us.

24 replies Wed, 01 Jun 2011 04:48:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Is-it-ok-to-use-two-seperate-real-estate-agents-when-searching-for-a-home/401317/ 2011-06-01T04:48:00Z Could I purchase a appartment in joint name under following conditions ? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Could-I-purchase-a-appartment-in-joint-name-under-following-conditions/554566/ I wish to purchase an appartment as joint property with another Indian who resides in India. Estimates show 4.5 million homes being sold for the month. While that's a significant increase from August, it's still significantly off from the home sales last year in the same month (about 20% less).

One important factor to remember, however, is that the home buyer tax credit was initially set to expire in November of last year, so September and October of 2009 had unusually high volumes of sales, while the following December/January were alternately sparse.
