I don't know how short this sale is, however my agent told me that the listing agent said I maid a "very good offer" on the home, and I offered basically the going price for homes in the area. Inspection yesterday revealed the roof is in worse shape than we thought; house is 15 year old modular, roof is original and will need replaced in six-12months instead of the three-five years we initially thought. We have cost estimate for replacement, which we will do in spring. We want to ask sellers to pay half the cost of materials. Is this a reasonable request? Our Realtor seems to think it will be a deal breaker, but I think he just doesn't want to rock the boater this point.<br \><br \>19 replies Sun, 09 Nov 2014 20:33:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Inspection-reveals-roof-issues-negotiate-with-seller/565962/ 2014-11-09T20:33:00Z Inspection reveals roof issues; negotiate with seller? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Inspection-reveals-roof-issues-negotiate-with-seller/565962/ We're negotiating on a property.
