I worked my tail off to get IRS to subordinate the loan to no avail. Finally I recommend the homeowner contact an attorney. Does a 5yr.ARM make sen http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/purchasing-a-small-vacation-home-with-plans-sell-primary-home-in-the-future-Does-a-5yr-ARM-make-sen/395293/ Will you be able to sell your old house before the ARM resets for the amount you want to get from it?

If yes the arm could make sense if you pay the new mortgage off at the sale. If no the ARM is a horrible idea.

As you do not really know that you can sell the house for what you want from it getting a fixed rate mortgage is your smartest bet. When an ARM resets and you have to pay extra each month the fixed rate mortgage looks very smart.

House prices are still falling in most of the nation. The house could easily lose more value in time.

Take a look at the site below for house price predictions.
Maryland

0 replies Sat, 16 Apr 2011 04:00:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/purchasing-a-small-vacation-home-with-plans-sell-primary-home-in-the-future-Does-a-5yr-ARM-make-sen/395293/ 2011-04-16T04:00:00Z Advice on Hard Cash Loans for Rehab properties http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Advice-on-Hard-Cash-Loans-for-Rehab-properties/522337/ If your only source of income is flipping, it will be a problem. You will need the income to qualify for the mortgage. The biggest catch is that we currently limit the # of properties a buyer can have financed to 4.

0 replies Tue, 24 Dec 2013 02:12:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Advice-on-Hard-Cash-Loans-for-Rehab-properties/522337/ 2013-12-24T02:12:00Z I live in Bethesda MD and am investigating whether or not it is possible to do a $1.2M Jumbo loan at http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/I-live-in-Bethesda-MD-and-am-investigating-whether-or-not-it-is-possible-to-do-a-1-2M-Jumbo-loan-at/495110/ Something you may know but just amplifying the thought - mortgage interest deduction is available up to $1M. Here is the IRS link.

0 replies Mon, 16 Sep 2013 18:25:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/I-live-in-Bethesda-MD-and-am-investigating-whether-or-not-it-is-possible-to-do-a-1-2M-Jumbo-loan-at/495110/ 2013-09-16T18:25:00Z Stipend http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Stipend/370297/ How do I get a mortgage when my income is quasi self employed. I work for a contracting agency that only issues an award letter at the end of the year, it's the same as a graduate student's stipend.
