Looking for a family friendly neighborhood in 92648 zip

We're moving to HB from overseas. We have 7&10 year old girls. We're looking for a kid friendly neighborhood within 1 mile of beach. The area between Lake Park and Beach Blvd, looks good, seems to have character (old homes), but is it child friendly? I imagine the kids bike to school and then run off to the park, local library or gather with friends - fiction? We'd appreciate any insight. thanks.

We remodeled our home 12 years ago adding a second story, and even years before that addede a family room. Bother were permitted with City of Huntington Beach, and the size reflected exhibits the original size of the home. How do we correct this on your site as your value of the home is a a major JOKE as well as many others in our neighborhood. You are way off as most of us have added 2nd stories over the last several years and on our side of this street we have a full non obstructed ocean view... THIS SITE IS A LAUGH
