Sure, we all don't have the kind of time people had back in the days or Ozzy and Harriet and can't do a lot of sitting on the front porch sipping ice tea but we all need to know a little about each other. If a stranger were seen leaving your home with your stereo under his arm, would anyone notice? Or, even more importantly, if someone left your home in the early morning hours carrying one of your children, would anyone notice? We don't have to get together and share all our personal info with each other. Of course, today's busy lifestyles wouldn't allow a lot of us to do much in the way of socializing with running kids to school, band practice, little league, or running to do our errands and getting to work but we need to make time to at least have some knowledge of each other and what is common or "normal" in our daily lives. Each neighborhood should form a neighborhood association and try to meet at least once a month. In this way, we could all watch out for each other. Going into a real estate contract without a buyer's rep is like going to court without benefit of an attorney.
