I want to know how to compare the home I'm looking at to other homes in Newton, and my starting point is price per square foot. The updated, 4 bedroom home I'm interested in is asking about $500 per square foot, and that's by far the highest of anything else listed in Newton that I can see. It does have a nice large level yard.

2 replies Fri, 19 Sep 2014 14:54:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/What-was-the-most-expensive-home-sold-in-Newton-in-the-last-90-days-based-on-a-per-square-foot-price/559879/ 2014-09-19T14:54:00Z A map and/or list of Massachusetts neighborhood names and boundaries as defined by Zillow? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/A-map-and-or-list-of-Massachusetts-neighborhood-names-and-boundaries-as-defined-by-Zillow/429139/ I'm trying to get a complete list of neighborhoods for Boston and surrounding cities and towns. In Barnstable County, the year-to-date median sale price for a single family home (SFH) is up a modest 2.1 percent (Jan-Jun 2014) to $340,000. However, this number has been steadily climbing each year since 2011 when it was $313,500. Year to date 1,768 SFH sold through June, compared again to 2011 when that number was just 1,509. The only Lower Cape Cod town not experiencing the same recovery is Orleans. Only 38 SFH have closed through June versus 53 a year ago at this time, a decrease of 28.3 percent. The median sale price is also down by 18 percent, from $640,000 to $525,000. Like most towns, Orleans experienced the height of its market in 2006 with a median sale price of $675,000. Twenty years ago, that number was $207,500. Orleans actually had the highest median sale price of all the Lower Cape towns all the way until 2005, when it was surpassed by Chatham. If you are a Buyer looking to jump in on Orleans real estate, there are still some great deals to be found right now. A good Buyer Agent will give you the comps and advise on a realistic offer price. Meanwhile enjoy the rest of Summer and we hope to see you in Orleans!

0 replies Sat, 02 Aug 2014 16:04:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Orleans-MA-2014-Mid-Year-Home-Sales-Update/552757/ 2014-08-02T16:04:00Z Mid Year 2014 Home Sales Update for Chatham MA http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Mid-Year-2014-Home-Sales-Update-for-Chatham-MA/552753/
For the first six months of 2014, most of Cape Cod is seeing an upward trend in real estate sales. In Barnstable County, the year-to-date median sale price for a single family home (SFH) is up a modest 2.1 percent (Jan-Jun 2014) to $340,000. On the Lower Cape, Chatham is up dramatically. The SFH median sale price rose 22.8 percent to $571,000, versus 2013 at $465,000. The number of SFH sold increased from 75 to 87, or 16 percent. Even so, we are still not at the height of the market enjoyed in 2006 when the median sale price was $693,500. Just for the fun of it, twenty years ago the median sale price of SFH in Chatham was $173,500. The fact remains that while prices are generally back on the rise, none of the towns on the Lower Cape are back to where they were at the height of the market. This is especially worth noting if you are a Buyer looking to jump in on Cape real estate. While you can still find a good deal on a home in Chatham, the days of ridiculous lowball offers are over. As you see from the numbers, real estate has historically been a great long-term investment. A good Buyer Agent will give you the comps and advise on a realistic offer price. Meanwhile enjoy the rest of Summer and we hope to see you in Chatham!

0 replies Sat, 02 Aug 2014 15:49:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Mid-Year-2014-Home-Sales-Update-for-Chatham-MA/552753/ 2014-08-02T15:49:00Z Has the property repeatedly changed hands? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Has-the-property-repeatedly-changed-hands/552184/ http://cleansextrem-uk.com

0 replies Wed, 30 Jul 2014 10:17:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Has-the-property-repeatedly-changed-hands/552184/ 2014-07-30T10:17:00Z What is this property worth in today's market? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/What-is-this-property-worth-in-today%27s-market/551446/ [spam]

1 reply Sat, 26 Jul 2014 10:32:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/What-is-this-property-worth-in-today%27s-market/551446/ 2014-07-26T10:32:00Z 10 Hottest Markets for Millennial Buyers + Sellers? Is Yours One? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/10-Hottest-Markets-for-Millennial-Buyers-Sellers-Is-Yours-One/551342/ Check out number 3 on this list - another reason to love Peabody!

Source: Trulia.com

1 reply Fri, 25 Jul 2014 17:21:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/10-Hottest-Markets-for-Millennial-Buyers-Sellers-Is-Yours-One/551342/ 2014-07-25T17:21:00Z Need a roomm for 2 near Harvard & Beacon, sept12-14. http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Need-a-roomm-for-2-near-Harvard-Beacon-sept12-14/550462/ Kosher first floor, if possible

2 replies Sun, 20 Jul 2014 19:57:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Need-a-roomm-for-2-near-Harvard-Beacon-sept12-14/550462/ 2014-07-20T19:57:00Z Cost per SF http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Cost-per-SF/547596/ What is an average cost per sf to build a triple decker in Boston MA assuming using non-union rates?

1 reply Sat, 28 Jun 2014 14:07:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Cost-per-SF/547596/ 2014-06-28T14:07:00Z Berkley MA Opinions http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Berkley-MA-Opinions/534463/ Hi I am looking into moving to Berkley MA from Norton and was wondering if anyone on here had an opinion about the town.
