Homebuyer Tax Credit

I'm sure most of you have heard by now that the Homebuyer Tax Credit has been extended and also improvised. The income limits have been increased from $75000 for a single to $125,000 and for a couple $150,000 to $225,000.
Also, current homebuyers are eligible if you have lived in your home for 5 of the previous 8 years. Current homebuyers are eligible for a $6500 tax credit.

It has been announced that Keller Williams will open a new market center (its first) in Montgomery, AL later this month. This seems like a positive development for the Montgomery-area real estate community. Does anyone have any opinions or insight?

This is a specific question pertaining to my house at 1900 North Ashe court, Auburn, AL 36830. The value of the house listed at the Zillow site is $250,000.00 (the thumbnail image), the Zestimate is : None and the Tax accessor value is$450,000.00.

The facts are as follows. The tax accessor value for 2008 is $ 533,000.00 (I paid tax for this value and I have the records), the actual assessed value in 2007 was $520,000.00 when we purchased the house. The actual purchase value is $505,000.00.

I request you to make the appropriate changes. I can submit the proof for all the above figures.

I question where the research came for the area demographics. There are about 200+ families in area that are white collar professionals. While there is a Washington Square park in the center, the neighborhood has never taken its name from that. Someone needed to do more research.

Bruno's in Auburn to close it's doors

The Bruno's grocery store in Auburn will soon be closing it's doors.
According to the store manager, they let all the employees know last Wednesday, Feb 18th, that the doors will close within 30 to 60 days.
This not long after the Pharmacy located inside was shut down last month, and the Bruno Brothers filed for Bankruptcy protection a few months ago.
The store, on the corner of Glenn Avenue&East University Drive has been a pinnacle of the community up until recent times.

Columbiana is a charming small town. What's on the horizon?

I can't help but think a small town like Columbiana attracts a lot of attention from those looking for the laid-back lifestyle. It has many attributes: close to a larger city with great hospitals, shopping and recreation; Southern charm; small; friendly; everyone knows their neighbors; a church of every corner; Lay Lake is nearby which offers fishing, boating and other water recreation; the summers are great and the winters are mild.
