In Pleasanton, what role does age of a house play in it's sale ?

We are considering buying a 40yrs old home. If we buy it and later try to sell this home after,say, 4-5yrs, will we get a good price for it or not because of the age factor ?

There are 2 other homes on our street with the same model as ours, except we added a FR and have a larger lot 7883 sq ft.(we also have a 5th wheel trailer,with a white roof, that shows is parked on our side RV yard, except with your property lines, it looks like our trailer is at the corner house, making our lot seem smaller. Also, w/ the FR our home sq. footage should be 1655 (not 1507) and because of this, our home is larger than the other two homes of the same model. Therefore, we don't understand how the homes at address 7343&7319 Lemonwood Wy could have a greater ZEstimate than ours. They do not have a FR and no significant remodeling. How does Zillow.com come up with these figures?? Please respond. Thanks.
