I have hardwood in some other rooms and want to match the existing floor, so laminate is not an option. This is the quote I got: $150 for the removal/disposal of the existing carpet, $2.50 per sq. ft for the installation of the floor for a total of $767.00, $3.00 per sq. ft for the sanding, staining, etc. for a total of $921.00 plus a small fee for installation of the baseboards. The labor total is about $1,900.00. Along with the actual purchase of the hardwood I am looking at about $3,500 for the one room. The contractor comes recommended from the place where I usually purchase flooring from. I live in Sherman Oaks, CA. Any input would be greatly appreciated. <br \><br \>0 replies Tue, 24 Nov 2009 21:16:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Estimate-for-hardwood-floor-installation-is-it-reasonable/301333/ 2009-11-24T21:16:00Z Major sewage pipe problems.
