My budget is $400k but i like houses here listed as $450k.. i cant increase my budget for now.. is there a way i get huge bargains, or i should forget about it ?

How updated is your information on your site? I called a realtor about a home that was listed and he said that information on that home is old and been sold.

I want to buy only brick houses but when I do a search now, I need to go through all the wood and metal frame house. Please make it so that I would only see brick house. Thank you very much and I believe if your site could do this and a lot of people will flock to you. How can a buyer hedge interest rate for a home under contruction?

We saw some new homes that we really loved but the next release is not until February. At that point you sign the contract, but the closing is then delayed another 6 months until construction is completed.

Given the current low rates, I am unwilling to take the risk of a rate increase over such a long period.

Any suggestions on how to hedge (short of buying futures)?

I am interested in buying a 2 bedroom condo at the CA Highlands in Dublin. A two car garage would be nice but the one car garage is also fine. I'm an excellent buyer with better credentials than most. High FICO scores, 20% down and I have no house I need to sell either! In other words, I don't have the baggage that other buyers have and can move as quickly or as slowly as you need. I've been pre-approved with Bank of America.

Housing agency's financial cushion sinks

I am posting an article about the FHA's low reserve levels. The Federal Housing Administration says its financial cushion has dipped to a dangerously low level but should remain above zero under "most economic scenarios." What does this mean for homebuyers and sellers? Could this be the end of low interest rates, 3% down? What are your thoughts? It could be the perfect time to buy... tax credit in effect, current low rates, plenty of inventory... time on the market in NJ has decreased by more than half since last year...

Home Purchased from Family - not eligible for $8k?

My wife and I purchased a home in Mass from her mother. I read the form and further investigated the 8k tax credit and realized that we are not eligible. Do you see a change in this rule any time soon? We are not in the business of buying and selling and truly feel that we are being short changed. Thanks~

How do i know if an appraisel is accurate and the appraiser was honest?

I bought a condo in June and the bank i used gave me the appraisel report that stated the property was the EXACT amount of the purchase price. I find this highly odd. Could it be that since the bank wants me to take out the loan they asked the appraiser to put the same exact amount rather then a lower amount so that we would g ahead with the purchase and take out the loan?

There is a floor plan offered by a new home builder that is perfect, but I am certain the price is well above fair market value. It's the end of the final phase of a master planned community. Is there any chance of negotiating a lower price?

I am looking to purchase a piece of property now on which to build my home sometime over the next year. If I was purchasing a house, I would qualify for the credit but because it's land, does that mean I do not qualify?
