...is it smarter to buy a house with a lower Zestimate (than purchase price) with upgrades or go for the house that has Zestimate closer or higher than purchase price?

I asked to see the appraisal done by the selling bank, and my realtor said I was not allowed to see it (for bank's information only). That seems pretty "shady" to me...

We have a contract on a home that had an incorrectly done foreclosure. We have been waiting on the title insurance which is hard to find with this issue. I want to understand what has happened and how to fix it. The problem is the foreclosure has overly inclusive language and the owners could claim the house. is still theirs.

Is it possible to buy a duplex and use half to live in and half for a self-run business?

I'm a photographer who currently leases a commercial space. I also rent the home I live in. It would be cheaper, obviously, if I could buy a duplex and use one half to live in, and use the other half as my studio, essentially running my business out of my home. Would zoning laws prevent this since half the duplex would be commercial, or would it simply be considered working from home?

I would like to purchase a home & have very little for a down payment. I am paying high rent so def can afford a mortgage. Can I combine grants, city incentives, FHA type loans to create my down payment? What about the$8K tax credits and how does that affect home purchasing? I am a credit union member too.

We are buying a new home and the HOA monthly fees are $70, but in the offercontract, the initiation fees are $1000. Are the initiation fees as high as $1000? Are these negotiable?Thanks for your input!

House we wanna buy has FOUNDATION problems but the listing agent denies it

I found a property that has a lot of desirable features that I was looking for in my target area after a long search.
But there are unfortunately a lot of mysterious things going on.

1. House was purchased 2 months ago by investors who were planning on bulldozing a new house. Previously it fell out of escrow a few times because of foundation problems scaring the buyers off.

2. Currently the asking price is about 250K higher than the sold price, without any obvious remodeling done.

3. Previous listing agent says that there is possible problem in the soil/foundation.

4. Current listing agent claims that he has not heard of any problems with the foundation.

Given these, what should I do?
Should I make an offer and hire soil/foundation inspectors?
Should I not even bother?

I own a house in Sharyland plantation in mission, texas. I wanted to buy a bigger house and sell my current house. Found a bigger house in the same area. My home is $280000, and the new home is $680000. Should I make that risk or not.

Im seeing a property here which is north end of frisco. I drove down to that place to have a look at the property. The question I have as a first time buyer is
1) Is that a good neigbhorhood to buy a home? One thing that bothers me is narrow roads, distance from tollway and 75. The house is close to eldorado and custer.
