If I move in, I'll be relaxed and I'll not buy SFH for years. I was thinking to buy condo, put it on rent and in 1-2 years by a SFH for myself.

In this way, with a payment of say 70K-80K, I can start building equity, put that condo on rent and payoff the mortgage. In parallel start saving for SFH and buy it in 1-2 years.

Can anyone comment on my plan please? Please let me know pros and cons of doing this.

3 replies Tue, 09 Sep 2014 20:56:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Should-I-buy-a-condo-as-an-investment-not-and-delay-my-plane-of-buying-SFH-for-myself/558627/ 2014-09-09T20:56:00Z Two houses apart from each other yet price/sq foot is $326 vs $406, why? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Two-houses-apart-from-each-other-yet-price-sq-foot-is-326-vs-406-why/438845/ One house @ 2116 Dianne, 95050 is $406/sq. ft and two houses away @ 2136 Dianne, 95050 is $326 sq. ft. Neither home has been sold recently. My agent says its normal to offer more than the listing price on a house or else my chances of purchasing that particular house will be very low. I still don't understand how that would be the case for a house that has been on the market for such a long time, but I've been making offers several thousand dollars more for houses I am interested in, but my agent still informs me that the house was sold to another party.

The reason I ask is because today I asked my agent if I would be getting the house I made an offer for in Sunnyvale (the second house I've made an offer on in Sunnyvale). He told me that it had been sold so I tried to confirm the address with him and he seemed a little confused at first and wrote down the address and began to think about it for a minute. He then confirmed that it had been sold. It is still listed as active on another site but I know things can take time to update online.

My agent also seems to have a i-don't-want-to-be here attitude. Now I'm certainly not expecting great customer service or even a friendly person, but he just isn't that helpful. I don't have experience at all with any other agents but when we arrive to look at a house, he opens the door to let us in and look around the house while he waits outside. He doesn't even greet us, which does not bother me but could be an indicator of how helpful he is actually being.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and advice.

24 replies Sat, 23 Apr 2011 01:33:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Is-it-normal-to-offer-more-than-the-listing-price-on-a-house-when-making-an-offer/396221/ 2011-04-23T01:33:00Z Score 588 and owe few debt credit card collention but wannting to buy a home please help http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Score-588-and-owe-few-debt-credit-card-collention-but-wannting-to-buy-a-home-please-help/518090/ I live in usa ca bay area looking for some lender who can get me a loan to buy a house 2-280k range with little as 10k-15k Credit score : 588 Have few collention but they were 7-8 years ago, but my house income is 8,000$ But they get cash and i get paystub 4,000$ my income If anyone in bay area willing to offer any program loan i would be happy to talk to dont want to keep runingg my credit will lowerer it even more please

5 replies Wed, 06 Nov 2013 06:13:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Score-588-and-owe-few-debt-credit-card-collention-but-wannting-to-buy-a-home-please-help/518090/ 2013-11-06T06:13:00Z Anyone who can get my dad a home loan with 588 credit score. http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Anyone-who-can-get-my-dad-a-home-loan-with-588-credit-score/518092/ If any lender here would work with my dad to get him a home loan with credit low as 588!
