i heard that the government told banks not to sale houses with bad credit until 2010. is that true?

At what point do I qualify for the $8,000 tax credit?

We're looking at buying a newly constructed house, but at this point, it probably won't be finished until January, 2010. If we sign the contract before December 1, 2009, can we still qualify for the $8,000 federal tax credit, or does it have to close by December 1, 2009? Thanks!

I put an offer on a short sale home. Will we hear something soon?

The sellers lender ordered an appraisal today, does that mean we will here an answer soon? The homes listing price is 249,900. We offered 258,500. What are our chances the bank will counter us? The same model sold last month for 299,000.

seller has a second mortgage isthe buyer responsible for that
