Fannie Mae foreclosure and issues

I need advice. I'm in the process of buying my first house, a foreclosure from Fannie Mae in south Florida. This all started the end of June. I put an offer in, they accepted. Upon inspection we learned that there we 3 open permits on the house for an addition that had been put on by the prior owners. Fannie Mae agreed to finish the work, get the final inspections and close the permits prior to closing. They couldn't get everything done before our original closing date, so they extended it. After completing the original work, the code enforcement officer found other things they wanted done. Fannie Mae couldn't get to these before our second closing date, so the listing agent sent us and extension, which I signed and sent back. Now the listing agent, who I'm not sure I trust, has come back and said that Fannie Mae is going to finish the new work but that they won't sign the extension that they sent to me and that instead they want us to send a termination letter and resubmit our offer on a new contract. The listing agent said they still want to work with me and aren't going to re-list the property, but I just don't trust them and he won't put all of this in writing. Can anyone give me any advice on how to proceed? I have a lawyer and am waiting to hear back from him but since its the weekend...not sure when that will be. Thanks for any help and sorry for the rambling.

why do you list land unde homes. no houses vacant land. why not list under vacant land foreclosure

I see that the senate has added the $15,000 home buyers tax credit to the stimulus package for those who purchase a home this year. Does that mean within 12 months of the bill being signed? or by ded. 31st of this year? My quesion is We are considering building a house starting in Jan of 2010 at which time we would put down a deposit and sign a purchase
agreement, however, we won't close on the house until construction is finished probably Nov. of 2010. Wouldl we qualify for the tax credit?
