He has been working for 5 years, great credit, and we will have roughly 10% down payment. I have heard that you have to have 2 years income in order to qualify for a mortgage. My question is this: if I start working in January, not having 2 years income, can I co-sign on his loan and have my current income count towards our combined debt-to-income ratio? Or, will I also need 2 years income in order to cosign on the loan, in order to qualify for a larger mortgage?

2 replies Mon, 10 Sep 2012 13:51:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/2-years-income-for-mortgage-w-cosigner/459309/ 2012-09-10T13:51:00Z Looking for an buyer agent http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Looking-for-an-buyer-agent/367522/ Looking for a buyer's agent to purchase rental properties in UGA.

8 replies Thu, 23 Sep 2010 20:42:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Looking-for-an-buyer-agent/367522/ 2010-09-23T20:42:00Z Homebuyer Trends ... how do you compare? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Homebuyer-Trends-how-do-you-compare/356406/
Below are a few statistics about homebuyers, according to NAR. How does/did your home search compare with the national statistics below?

Average homebuyer searches 12 weeks and looks at 12 homes before making a decision.

47% of recent purchases were by 1st-time homebuyers, with 53% being from repeat buyers.

90% of homebuyers used internet to search for homes, often times even driving by selected properties, before contacting a professional to help.

6 replies Sun, 04 Jul 2010 12:25:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Homebuyer-Trends-how-do-you-compare/356406/ 2010-07-04T12:25:00Z why is the newly-announced $6500 tax credit only for people that have owned their home 5 of 8 years? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/why-is-the-newly-announced-6500-tax-credit-only-for-people-that-have-owned-their-home-5-of-8-years/295228/ Both the house and senate have agreed to extend the $8000 first-time homebuyer tax credit through May 1st, 2010.
