i am trying to purchase a bank owned fannie mae home and everything was find until the home appraised for 14k less than we offered so the bank lowered the asking amount but fannie mae rejected the whole thing my mid fico score is a 630 and approved for a fha loan what can i do to come up with the differenc i am a first homebuyer and dont have alot to put down thanks

I am interested in buying investment property in Canton, Westland, Novi, Plymouth, and Belleville area. I see it on 50% of them. Looking to spend and renovate for less than $30k. Other than MLS, what else should I look at?

I am planning to buy in AA and I notice the properties are much more affordable in the South Eastern Part of AA e.g Pittsfield and such...Is there a reason for this? Maybe it's not such a good area...I would like to know before I delve into purchasing something there, because I plan to relocate my family there....

I've found a house on 10 acres (parcel is only 330 ft wide and is deep but cannot be split up) but the house needs lots of work. I've been in contact with the listing agent,its been on the market for a year. Originally listed $89,900 and now it is $77,900. The housing market in Michigan is really poor currently. I'm looking for this to be my permanent residence and not an investment. The property has had 6 offers on it that have fallen through because the buyers could not come up with financing. The house needs a roof (it leaks thus causing plaster damage, porch is falling down) and new doors, kitchen, boiler etc. It really needs a complete renovation, built in 1900. The positives are that it is an old farm house/victorian with high ceilings, wood trim, tall windows, 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom (2800 sq ft), solid foundation and no structural issues other than the roof. I've remodeled houses in worse condition. I suspect the issues the other buyers are having is this house would not fit the typical FNMA mortgage guidelines and the fact that it is 10 acres. I was thinking of offering $35-40,000 cash but I don't know if the bank would even look at it. But all of the other offers have fallen through (there is a current offer on the property thats been going for 2 months and the realtor says it appears this one is also going to fail). I've found a vacant lot nearby w/ 5 acres, foundation just done along with new well and septic for $19,000 (bank owned), another bare 5 acre lot for $29900 (privately owned). Thats the closest comparable vacant land parcels I could find. All other houses in the area are newer (2 houses down from this one is a house that has, same sized 10 acre lot, built in 2005, needs nothing, 2400 sq ft w/ attached 3 car garage, also bank owned for $139k) and hard to compare with a house that would need approx. $40k+ in repairs.

We are looking at placing a bid on a house in Traverse City, MI. The house is bank owned and is listed at $214,000. We can only get approved for $160,000 and we have $10K down. Is an offer of $160,000 too low? What are the chances the bank will take the offer compared to an individual? The home is in an upscale subdivision where all the other houses for sale are $250$-350K. Any info will help! Thanks!

The apprasial came in at 1/2 of the selling price of the home and the bank will not finance the sale. The regular sales were more recent and equal or higher than the selling price of the home. I am told the "incorrect" appraisal cannot be corrected for 6 months.

will the first time home buyers stimulus be extended

I am looking to buy my first home in the detroit metro area. It is now late august and the current stimulus is set to expire in december. Is it wise to wait to see if the program will be extended or expanded. Everything I read tells me that foreclosures are going up and programs will at least be extended, however anyone will tell you not to put your trust in the gov. I realize that no one can tell for sure but i would definately value an opion from the pros.
