The house is valued around $375k. I already have a pre-approved mortgage and my parents have agreed to sell me the house under market value at 300k. I will receive a gift of equity and include extra money for the down payment. Since I am not searching for a home, I'm guessing there would be no need to involve a real estate agent. Can a real estate lawyer help me proceed with the documents and complete this transaction?

7 replies Mon, 03 Mar 2014 22:48:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Is-there-a-need-for-real-estate-agent-when-buying-my-parents-home/530793/ 2014-03-03T22:48:00Z I would like to buy a house one day http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/I-would-like-to-buy-a-house-one-day/513940/
. (currently restricted by rental lease) and we want to buy a home. I would think you'd want to begin the step to home purchase as soon as possible, but I'm hearing from some that this is not always recommended. Is it true that prequalifying is bad for your credit? If so, how do you find out if and how much of a loan you may be approved for? I'm really confused.
