I have never bought a home, am eligible for va, filed bankruptcy in 2005 (hurricane katrina), work for the federal government, gross pay is appx. 60,000. Had a fico score ran in feburary that was 620, I have brought it up some since. I dont know where to start to buy a home or get prequalified

Supplied copy of the owner's title insurance and all title work that came with it. Still curious why there will be no credit

Zillow is comparing relatively smaller homes to bigger ones thats in the same area but not the same nieghborhood. This drops the value of the bigger home.

A couple of years ago we bought a house that the owners had painted (interior and exterior). They covered up a lot of rot (siding, windows) and issues (roof leaks).

We're shelling out major cash and our friends all say there's something you can do, but to me it's just Buyers Beware - we didn't know to look for these things. We used our real estate agent's inspector (NEVER do that) and he glossed over everything.

We've had to replace windows and window-areas, had to fix the repair roof leaks 4 times and having to replace areas of rotted siding.
