Short Sale San Diego

We are first time homebuyers and our offer on a short sale was accepted by the buyer and taken to the bank back on April 11th. The auction date has been extended 4 times in the last 4 months. It goes to auction on Oct 22nd. We have not gotten any straight answers or status updates about what is going or where we are at in the short sale process from the listing agent. Does any one have any suggetions on what we can do to move this along, get this approved and in escrow? We would like to close before the Nov 31st deadline to receive the $8,000 tax credit.

Will most of these homes be auctioned? Most of these pages have hits in their 20's so I would imagine I would be 1 of an average of 15+ prospective buyers. How much could it go up? I would be looking to buy a home in cash.

I bought a home for the first time in March 09 for 300K and the property tax bill just came home. The have me assessed at 420k. Shouldn't my property taxes be tax on the purchased price? If so, how do i go about appealing? Please advise.

Hi, I would really appreciate some feedback about this...

In California, after a home has been sold back to the bank at a courthouse auction, what happens next?
How many days do the occupants have til evicted?
I have heard 90 days and 120 days.
For example, let's say 90 days. So the bank cannot do anything until AFTER 90 days? Even if the occupants let's say left at 75 days?
Do the occupants give some kind of notice to the bank when they leave?
How will the bank know they left?
What if the house has a gate, how will the bank get in without a code??
I heard the bank changes the locks.

So after the home is vacant, what happans next?
Does the bank send someone to inspect the house?
How long after the house goes vacant does the bank put the home on the market? 30 days? Does it vary by banks?

Thank you for any input. If you are wondering, yes I am trying to see when a certain house wll hit the market. It has been 2 months since it wet to auction and the people are still living in the house. The beneficiary bank said I can't put an offer or anything on it until it gets listed. ( I didn't want to have to compete)

Why can't I see the z-estimate for all homes anymore?

In the past I recall being able to access the z-estimate for all homes, not just the recently sold and/or for sale homes. This no longer seems to be the case, at least for the neighborhood I am searching. Is it possible to see the value of all homes in a given neighborhood anymore?
