If each side sells for $80,000, and I purchase a condo for $120,000, do I qualify for a 2nd homebuyer govt. tax credit? I lived in and owned the duplex 16 years.

We are purchasing a property by owner in wi and made our offer contingent on inspection without the right to cure. we would still like to move forward but the inspection revealed the need for a new furnace, incorrect ducting, need for a new roof, need for new water heater, and need for new water heater not to mention the lack of gutters. how do we go back to the seller and ask for concessions, is this done on a counter offer form?

I'm OK with the sellers staying a few days after closing. Not a problem. I will have home insurance starting the day of closing. Anything else I need to do to cover myself and new home?

There is a very nice little upper/lower duplex for sale in Kenosha. It is assessed around 200k and is for sale for around 100k. Each level is approximately 700 sq ft, there is a very nice two car garage for the tenants to share as well. It is also in an excellent neighborhood. Does this sound like it would be a good investment? What is an approximate rental rate per unit?

I'm interested in a home for sale, it was a foreclosure and needs some work. It's listed at a pretty good price....however the taxes would drain a person to live there!
The sq footage listed is 5034 sq ft and the taxes last year were $6265. How can I verify that this information is true and accurate?

You have this house listed for $171,000. and the description includes the easement down to the lake. I understand the easement is not included in this sale. Can you clarify this for me? Also, if it is not included, what is the Zestimate value of this house? Thank you for your feedback

How can I tell if a house is VRP?

I recently made an offer on a house that was listed at 249k and I offered 240K - the counter offer was 254K. I did not see on Zillow or on the Listing Agent's website that this was a VRP listing. It seems misleading to me. On the MLS page it did have 249K+ but that was it. If the seller had listed the house at 259K which is what they want - I would have been more willing to negotiate - instead I feel like they were misleading in their tactics and I have refused their counter offer and will not continue my pursuit of this home - even though I would have been willing to negotiate higher if they had been up front in the beginning.

How can I afford this in the future?
