That is so cruel and inhumane, there are so many better choices....They don't just smell it and move away, they are curious and bury fragile membranes to investigate....

I'm praying no one I know sees this, but an easy solution is to take several pints of your own human adult male urine and create a perimeter. As a larger predators it says: You are unwelcome.

It doesn't matter how cuddly they are with their owners, your scent is utterly foreign and unique.

Oh yuk!! It's funny you say that really! There is a Chinese restaurant in a town quite a ways from here that is rumored to have been shut down because the employees were paying the little local kids $5 a head per cat. We never ate there thank God!!

And so about a week ago I went to get my boyfriend's dinner from a Chinese place by our house and when I was going back to my car, a Siamese cat ran from around the building and ran under my car.

Cayenne pepper - mix it with water and spray on the outer perimeter of your property - it is a natural deterrent, and doesn't cost a lot of money like the "Critter Ridder" or all that other fancy stuff. And you don't have to find a fox and get its urine either ;o)
