I got a similar E-mail from a neighbor; I sent a response that I thought I saw her car move in the driveway recently; please confirm this is really you.

I got a message back from a friend of hers that it was a scam and that she was at home.

If I had read the E-mail more carefully, it would have been extremely obvious. The grammar had way too many errors to be my neighbor. Besides, the header was missing the "to"; and I got the message on more than one E-mail account; thus it was clear that some worm was using the E-mail address book of that person to send to everyone.

My neighbor could easily have provided infomation that only she would know that I knew to confirm; something an account theft person could not accomplish.

The other strange thing was the "hotel" issue; she has plenty of friends in the countries mentioned and she would stay at their houses, not in a hotel.
